Tinubu to Host Indian Prime Minister Modi in Abuja on Sunday

President Bola Tinubu is set to welcome Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a State Visit at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Sunday. Prime Minister Modi is expected to arrive in the Nigerian capital on Saturday.

This visit marks the first time an Indian prime minister will visit Nigeria since Dr. Manmohan Singh’s state visit in 2007, when the two countries formally established a strategic partnership.

According to a statement from presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu and Prime Minister Modi will use their bilateral discussions to further strengthen ties between Nigeria and India. The two leaders are also set to sign several Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) aimed at enhancing cooperation in key sectors.
