NAF Airstrikes Neutralize Key Bandit Loyalists in Zamfara
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed the elimination of several bandits, including key loyalists of notorious leaders Dan-Isuhu and Dogo Sule, during airstrikes in Zamfara State.
According to a statement by NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, the strikes were conducted on Friday, November 15, as part of Operation Hadarin Daji’s air interdiction missions. The operation targeted a congregation of bandits in Babban Kauye village, located in Tsafe Local Government Area, a notorious hotspot for banditry in the northwest region.
Intelligence reports revealed that the bandits were plotting coordinated attacks on military personnel and civilians along the Tsafe axis. Acting on this credible information, NAF launched precise airstrikes, inflicting significant casualties on the bandit factions.
“Reports confirm that several high-ranking members of the groups were neutralized, delivering a substantial blow to their operational capabilities,” Akinboyewa stated.
The spokesperson highlighted that the Tsafe area has long served as a stronghold for bandit factions, with groups like those loyal to Dan-Isuhu and Dogo Sule known for orchestrating violent attacks on communities, security personnel, and critical infrastructure. Remote settlements like Babban Kauye have often been exploited as strategic bases for planning and executing these operations.
The successful airstrikes underscore NAF’s continued commitment to dismantling bandit networks and restoring peace to Zamfara State and its environs.
