Ondo Election: PDP’s Ajayi Loses LGA as APC’s Aiyedatiwa Sweeps All 18 LGAs
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the Ondo State governorship election, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, suffered a significant loss in his local government area, Ese-Odo, to the incumbent governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Ajayi, a former deputy governor of the state, secured 7,813 votes in Ese-Odo, far behind Aiyedatiwa’s 14,511 votes, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Governor Aiyedatiwa not only defeated Ajayi in Ese-Odo but also recorded a decisive victory in his own Ilaje local government area, where he garnered 24,474 votes against Ajayi’s 3,632 votes.
The APC candidate emerged victorious in all 18 local government areas of the state, solidifying his position as the winner of the off-cycle governorship election.
This sweeping victory reflects the ruling party’s continued dominance in Ondo State and marks a significant setback for the opposition PDP.
