Gov Okpebholo inspects 7.2km Temboga road in Benin

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on Tuesday, inspected the ongoing construction of the 7.2km Tamboga – Ekiuwa road, linking the University of Benin (UNIBEN).

The Governor had on November 13, less than 24 hours after his assumption of office, flagged off the 7.2km Temboga and Oba-Erediauwa road with storm water channelisation through Ekiuwa Road, linking Uteh and other communities, terminating at UNIBEN in Ugbowo, Egor LGA.

Governor Okpebholo who was in the area as part of the fulfilment of his campaign promise to construct the road, said it is of tremendous importance, as it serves as a bypass to Ugbowo.

The Governor assured the people of Edo State that the ongoing massive projects across the State are geared towards the infrastructural development of Edo State

Okpebholo also inspected remediation works at Upper Mission Extension Road by Aduwawa Junction, even as the highly elated residents and traders all applauded him for ensuring they enjoy the dividends of democracy.

“This road was unpassable in time past as it has been bad for years. Residents living here have suffered for years without government presence. The people in this area found it difficult to move but the situation will now change as the road will help them link up with the UNIBEN.

“The time we came here to campaign, I saw the situation of the road and I told them that we were coming back and today we are back to see the level of work done so far.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has enthroned the renewed hope agenda for Nigeria and this is the step my administration is taking to develop Edo State and ensure that Edo is renewed.

“With these massive projects going on now, we can see that we are ready to transform the State as we have embarked on massive road infrastructure to transform Edo State.

A cross section of residents including Mrs. Blessing Thomas, Vero Itua, Miracle Olujobi and Peter Afekena thanked the Governor for remembering them even within few days of being in the saddle.

They were unanimous in their opinion that they have seen a new light as they will now continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy as demonstrated through the construction of the road.

They noted that the new administration has come with positive actions to prove that good things can be done to the generality of the people when leaders have their interests at heart.
