Senate Confirms Olufemi Oluyede as Chief of Army Staff

The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede as the Chief of Army Staff. The confirmation followed the presentation of a report by Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua (Katsina Central), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army. The committee’s recommendations were unanimously adopted by the Senate.

Lieutenant General Oluyede had been serving as the Acting Chief of Army Staff after the illness and subsequent death of Lt. Gen. Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja. With the Senate’s approval, Oluyede’s appointment is now officially confirmed.
