Tinubu Appoints CEOs for NUC, NERDC, NEPAD, and SMDF
President Bola Tinubu has appointed new chief executive officers (CEOs) for several key Nigerian institutions. The appointments were announced in a statement from his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Friday.
- National Universities Commission (NUC):
Prof. Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the NUC. Ribadu is a visiting professor with expertise in veterinary reproduction and has served as Vice Chancellor at the Federal University of Technology, Yola, and Sule Lamido University, Jigawa. - Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC):
Prof. Salisu Shehu is the new Executive Secretary of NERDC. Shehu is an expert in educational psychology and has played a significant role in establishing the School of Continuing Education at Bayero University, Kano. He also served as the Vice-Chancellor of Al-Istiqamah University, Kano. - New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD):
Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi Tsauri has been appointed National Coordinator of NEPAD. Tsauri holds a Master’s in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University and has experience in legislative affairs, global governance, and public service. - Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (SMDF/PAGMI):
Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani has been appointed Executive Secretary. He holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a Master’s in Arts and Management from the University of Hertfordshire. Danfulani has worked in banking and business administration, including a role at the Central Bank of Nigeria and as a Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Zamfara State.
President Tinubu expressed confidence that the new appointees, with their diverse expertise and leadership experience, would drive positive change and ensure progress in their respective organizations.
