Kalu Commends Tinubu’s Appointments to South East Development Commission (SEDC) Board
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has expressed his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for appointing pioneer members to the South East Development Commission (SEDC) board.
In a statement, Kalu praised the appointments, highlighting that they align with President Tinubu’s vision to reposition and develop the South East region. He specifically congratulated the nominated individuals, including Emeka Wogu, the newly appointed chairman of the board and former Minister of Labour and Productivity; Hon. Stanley Ohajuruka, the Executive Director for Finance; Hon. Toby Okechukwu, the Executive Director of Projects; and Dr. Clifford Ogbede, another director on the board.
Additionally, Kalu acknowledged the appointment of Hon. Chijioke Chukwu, the former Minority Leader of the Abia State House of Assembly, to the board of the North West Development Commission (NWDC).
Kalu also urged the appointees to remain focused and work diligently to fulfill the SEDC’s mandate, which is geared towards addressing the region’s infrastructure, ecological, and environmental challenges. He emphasized that these efforts would promote significant regional development.
Kalu has been instrumental in sponsoring the bill that led to the creation of the SEDC, which seeks to address developmental issues facing the South East region.
