Jay-Z Denies Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Against 13-Year-Old

Rapper and entrepreneur Shawn Corey Carter, known as Jay-Z, has firmly denied allegations of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl alongside music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs in 2000.

In a statement released to CNN, Jay-Z condemned the accusations as “so heinous” and urged the accuser to file criminal charges instead of civil ones. “Whoever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away,” Jay-Z stated, emphasizing the severity of the allegations.

The claims were made by a woman, identified as Jane Doe, who had initially filed a lawsuit accusing Combs of sexual assault. She amended her lawsuit to include Jay-Z, claiming that both men assaulted her during an after-party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.

Combs, who has faced charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and prostitution-related offenses, has pleaded not guilty and denied any wrongdoing in the multiple civil lawsuits filed against him.

In her amended lawsuit, the woman, who was 13 at the time, claims she felt faint after consuming a drink at the party and later found herself in a bedroom where she was allegedly assaulted first by Jay-Z and then by Combs. She says she managed to escape after hitting Combs and fled the scene.

Jay-Z was initially named as “Celebrity A” in the lawsuit. The plaintiff’s attorneys had reached out to him seeking mediation to resolve the matter, but Jay-Z responded by filing a counter-lawsuit, accusing them of harassment and intimidation aimed at silencing the accuser.

In a statement sent to CNN, Jay-Z described the mediation request as an attempt at blackmail. He also criticized the lawyer representing the accuser, claiming that the lawyer had a history of using such tactics. “This is all just theatrics,” Jay-Z added.

Attorney Tony Buzbee, representing the accuser, responded on Saturday, calling the matter serious and stating that it would be addressed in court.

Jay-Z expressed in his statement that the allegations were particularly painful for his family. “My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at an age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about these claims,” he wrote. “I mourn the loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure this.”

CNN also reported that an anonymous male celebrity recently filed a lawsuit against Buzbee, accusing the Texas attorney of attempting to extort large sums of money, threatening to publicize fabricated allegations of sexual assault if demands were not met. Buzbee denied these accusations, asserting that his firm would continue to fight for survivors of sexual assault.

In response to Jay-Z’s comments, Buzbee took to social media, defending his client. He clarified that the accuser had never asked for money from Jay-Z but had only sought private mediation. “She is emboldened,” Buzbee said, expressing pride in her resilience.
