Tinubu Welcomes German President Steinmeier to Nigeria
President Bola Tinubu is currently hosting German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who is in Nigeria for a three-day state visit.
Steinmeier arrived at the State House in Abuja at 11:06 AM, where he was warmly received by President Tinubu and members of Nigeria’s Federal Executive Council (FEC).
Upon his arrival, the German anthem, “Deutschland über alles,” was played, followed by the Nigerian National Anthem performed by the Brigade of Guards. The German President then inspected the honor guard.
A traditional 21-gun salute was fired by the Brigade of Guards in Steinmeier’s honor.
According to a statement from the German Embassy on Monday, during his visit, President Steinmeier will hold talks with President Tinubu and meet with Dr. Alieu Omar Touray, President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission.
Afterward, President Steinmeier will travel to Lagos, where he will engage with business leaders, visit a start-up hub, and meet with figures from Nigeria’s cultural sector and civil society.
