Gov Mutfwang Dismisses Rumour of Defection to APC
Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, has strongly rejected the circulating rumours on social media claiming he plans to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a press statement issued by the Director of Press and Public Affairs in the Governor’s office, Mr. Gyang Bere, Mutfwang dismissed the claims as the work of mischief makers and divisive agents seeking to mislead the public about his political intentions.
The statement specifically condemned the spread of doctored images, which falsely showed Mutfwang alongside APC governors, purportedly preparing to welcome President Bola Tinubu to Edo State. The governor described this fabrication as a deliberate attempt to create confusion and undermine his commitment to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Governor Mutfwang reiterated his unwavering loyalty to the PDP, the platform through which he was elected, and categorically stated that he had never considered leaving the party for any other political group. He reassured PDP members in Plateau State and the North-Central region that ongoing consultations are addressing the party’s challenges in the zone.
Emphasizing the success of the recent PDP Governors Forum meeting held in Plateau State, Mutfwang reaffirmed his commitment to the party’s principles of equity, justice, and fairness, as envisioned by its founding members. He also stressed his determination to continue collaborating with the Federal Government, led by President Tinubu, for the advancement of Plateau State’s development.
