Buckingham Palace Launches Probe After Christmas Party Arrest

Buckingham Palace has announced it will investigate an incident involving a staff member arrested following a brawl at a London bar after a Christmas party. A 24-year-old woman was detained on Tuesday night for smashing glasses and attempting to assault a bar worker at a venue just a short walk from the royal residence, according to London police.

A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace clarified that the event was an “informal social gathering, not an official palace Christmas party.” The incident occurred after some household staff members attended a reception at the palace earlier in the evening.

The brawl reportedly involved around 50 palace staff, as reported by The Sun newspaper. The woman was arrested on suspicion of common assault, criminal damage, and being drunk and disorderly. Buckingham Palace stated that a full investigation would take place, and a “robust disciplinary process” would follow for the staff involved.
