NAFDAC Denies Approval of ‘Lung-Cleansing Herbal Tea’ for Smokers

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has refuted claims circulating on social media about the registration of a herbal product called Lungitox (Smokers Pride) or similar items purported to “make smoking healthy.”

In a statement issued by its Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, on Saturday, the agency clarified that it had rejected the registration of the product due to its unsubstantiated and hazardous claims.
