Fintiri Signs Bill Establishing New Chiefdoms in Adamawa

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has signed into law a bill establishing new emirates and chiefdoms across the state.

The legislation, signed on Monday, also formally designates the Lamido Adamawa as the Chairman of the State Council of Emirs and Chiefs. This move is aimed at bolstering traditional governance and fostering inclusivity within the state.

While the specifics of the newly created emirates and chiefdoms have not been disclosed, the initiative aligns with Governor Fintiri’s broader agenda to enhance governance and drive development across Adamawa.

Earlier, the governor had enacted another bill that established 83 new districts in the state. The move was intended to improve administrative efficiency and help curb criminal activities, further demonstrating his administration’s commitment to improving security and governance.
