Remi Tinubu Donates N50m To 250 Elderly Persons In Nasarawa
The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N50 million to support 250 elderly citizens in Nasarawa State. The beneficiaries, aged 65 and above, received the donation as part of the Renewed Hope Initiative Elderly Support Scheme (RHIESS), aimed at enhancing the welfare of senior citizens.
The donation, themed “Total Wellness; Happy, Healthy and Prosperous Lifestyle,” is part of the second phase of the initiative. Each beneficiary received N200,000, a significant increase from the N100,000 allocated in the previous year.
Senator Tinubu, represented by the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Aisha Rufai Ibrahim, highlighted that a total of N1.9 billion will be distributed across the nation as part of the ongoing effort to support elderly citizens.
In addition to the financial assistance, beneficiaries were provided with medical check-ups and other essential items to promote their well-being.
The First Lady urged the elderly citizens to prioritize their health during the festive season, recommending good nutrition, hydration, light exercise, and quality time with loved ones.
Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule, the wife of Nasarawa State Governor, also praised the initiative and emphasized that the elderly would receive additional gifts, including 250 wrappers, as a complement to the support provided by the First Lady.
