LAUTECH Student Crowned Miss Oyo 2024

A 19-year-old student of Science Laboratory Technology at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Oladimeji Mercy Esther, has been crowned Miss Oyo State 2024. The coronation ceremony took place on Sunday night at the Jogor Events Centre on Liberty Road, Oke Ado, Ibadan.

Key Dignitaries and Special Guests

The prestigious event was attended by notable dignitaries, including Oyo State First Lady, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde; Hon. Adedeji Dhikirulah Olajide; Senator Monsurat Sunmonu; Dr. Yinka Ayefele; and Asiwaju Nurudeen Akinade, who represented billionaire businessman and chairman of Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resort, Engr. Dotun Sanusi.

Sanusi contributed to the event’s grandeur by donating a Hummer H3 SUV Jeep as a prize, along with bags of rice and chickens for lucky raffle ticket winners in their hundreds.

Judging Panel

The judging panel featured prominent figures such as Barrister Seun Ashamu, the State Commissioner for Energy; Ibrahim Lawal, Director-General of FRIN; veteran actress Toyin Adegbola; and Princess Abeo Folashade Nurudeen.

In her address, the First Lady of Oyo State emphasized the importance of mentorship programs for future editions and encouraged contestants to not only rely on their beauty but to also focus on acquiring essential skills and education to succeed in life.
