Interior Ministry’s Achievements Are a Civilian Revolution, Says Rivers APC

The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has hailed the sweeping changes within the Federal Ministry of Interior as a “civilian revolution,” emphasizing the transformative impact of these reforms on key sectors.

In a statement issued by Darlington Nwauju, the APC Publicity Secretary for Rivers State, the party described the Ministry’s achievements as unparalleled, noting that the performance under President Bola Tinubu’s administration has set a new benchmark for public officeholders across Nigeria.

“The Interior Ministry has delivered tangible and visible results that are nothing short of revolutionary,” said Nwauju.

“Under Dr. Tunji-Ojo, the Ministry has undergone a transformation unseen since 1999, evolving from what was once regarded as the ‘Ministry for Holiday Affairs’ into a national and international reference point for excellence.”

The statement outlined several key accomplishments of the Ministry, including the promotion of over 50,000 paramilitary officers, the rehabilitation of correctional centers, and the remodeling of the Fire Service Academy. It also commended initiatives such as the introduction of contactless biometric passports, the deployment of over 40 e-gates at major international airports, and the establishment of a Command-and-Control Centre aimed at enhancing internal security.

“These are concrete results that not only boost morale within the paramilitary services but also improve service delivery to Nigerians,” Nwauju remarked.

He also highlighted innovations like the introduction of enhanced e-passport facilities and the Safe School Initiative as prime examples of the Ministry’s commitment to excellence.

Nwauju attributed these achievements to strategic planning, effective teamwork, and the successful utilization of public-private partnerships, all while maintaining minimal costs to the government.

“The leadership of Dr. Tunji-Ojo has demonstrated that youth and patriotism are crucial in delivering results. His leadership sets a standard for public officeholders, showcasing the potential of competence and commitment,” he added.

The Rivers APC also noted that the Ministry’s success serves as a powerful campaign asset for President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

“In less than two years, the Interior Ministry has exceeded expectations, achieving results that many thought were impossible,” the statement concluded.

The party called on Nigerians to take note of these milestones and support the Ministry’s continued efforts to enhance internal security, border management, and public service delivery.

“This is the kind of progress Nigerians deserve, and we are proud that the Ministry of Interior is leading the way,” Nwauju concluded.
