Bauchi Gov Signs N467bn 2025 Budget Into Law
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has officially signed the state’s 2025 budget of N467,855,248,317.12 into law. The signing follows the presentation of the budget proposal to the Bauchi State House of Assembly in late November for consideration and passage.
Governor Mohammed announced that the budget will take effect from 1st January 2025 and commended the members of the State Assembly for their dedication in reviewing and approving the budget. He emphasized that the 2025 budget aligns with the bold mission of his administration to drive the development of Bauchi State.
The Governor assured that additional sources of revenue would be leveraged to optimize the performance of the state’s budget.
In his remarks, Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Sulaiman, noted that the House had increased the budget from N465bn to N467bn to cater to the developmental needs of the state. He highlighted that the increment of N2 billion was made after thorough legislative review and careful consideration of all sectors.
Sulaiman emphasized the role of the House in ensuring that adequate resources were allocated to various sectors, underscoring the transparency and oversight function of the legislature in the process.
