Kebbi Gov Signs 2025 Appropriation Bill Into Law
Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has officially signed the 2025 appropriation bill of N580,427,469,023 into law on Friday.
The bill had earlier been passed by the State House of Assembly during a special sitting at the Assembly Complex in Birnin Kebbi. In a brief ceremony at the Government House, the Acting Speaker, Hon. Samaila Muhammed Bagudo, presented the bill for assent, explaining that the legislative arm had focused entirely on scrutinizing the bill over a seven-day period before its passage into law.
Bagudo expressed gratitude to the executive arm for submitting the bill promptly and urged its logical implementation.
Governor Idris, in his remarks after assenting to the bill, commended the lawmakers for their swift action in passing the bill within such a short period. He assured the lawmakers and citizens of Kebbi State that his government was committed to utilizing the appropriation law for the benefit of the people.
However, Idris also issued a stern warning to political appointees, stating that he would not hesitate to sack any incompetent ones and appoint new individuals if necessary. The governor outlined his administration’s key focus areas for the 2025 budget, which include infrastructure, education, health development, and the welfare of the needy in the state.
