Okpebholo Has Set New Records In 1 Month — Oshiomhole
Former Governor of Edo State, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, has lauded Governor Monday Okpebholo for his exceptional performance in his first month in office, claiming that Okpebholo has set a new record in the history of governance in Edo State.
Oshiomhole made these remarks on Thursday while speaking with newsmen at his residence in Iyamho, Etsako West local government area of Edo State. He expressed satisfaction with Okpebholo’s pragmatic approach to governance and emphasized that the people of Edo now have the opportunity to experience true and practical leadership after eight years under the previous Governor Godwin Obaseki.
“Governor Okpebholo has, for the first time in Edo’s history, made appointments from the very first day in office. No time has been wasted, and he has made significant decisions within his first month in office,” Oshiomhole said.
He praised the Governor’s prompt appointments in critical sectors like Justice, Health, and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), highlighting Okpebholo’s commitment to basic education, which he described as a crucial area that could not be delayed.
Oshiomhole also lauded Okpebholo for addressing infrastructure development, noting that contractors had already been mobilized back to sites and that various key areas were being prioritized to bring relief to the people.
“Edo people are already feeling the impact of his administration. It’s clear that there is a new sheriff in town, and he is working to stop the mismanagement that the state faced under his predecessor. He is focused on ensuring that local governments use their funds for development, not for personal interests,” Oshiomhole remarked.
Oshiomhole also emphasized that Governor Okpebholo’s approach is action-oriented, focusing on tangible projects that people can see and feel. “After eight years of rhetoric and empty promises, Governor Okpebholo is delivering on what the people need. His leadership style is one of collective decision-making and wisdom,” Oshiomhole said, expressing pride in Okpebholo’s accomplishments.
In his remarks, Governor Okpebholo reassured the people of Edo that they would witness even more positive changes in 2025. He emphasized the importance of a new budget and the credible people he has appointed to critical positions, which will boost various sectors of the state’s economy in the coming year.
Governor Okpebholo has made headlines recently for the swift appointment of his cabinet members, inauguration of board members, and launching of major road projects, all within the first few hours of his administration.
