Fire Razes Popular Masaka Market in Nasarawa

A late-night fire has devastated a popular market in Masaka, located in Karu Local Government of Nasarawa State. The fire, which started late Friday night, continued through to the early hours of Saturday morning.

An eyewitness, who chose to remain anonymous, described the incident as “crazy.” She recounted arriving at the market around 12:30 am after receiving a call about the fire and staying there until 4 am. She noted that almost half of the market was destroyed by the flames.

Despite the extensive damage, she was relieved that her shop was not affected. She expressed gratitude to the firefighters who responded quickly, stating that without their intervention, the entire market could have been entirely consumed by the fire.
