South Korean Plane Crashes, Over 100 Feared Dead

A tragic plane crash occurred on Sunday in southwestern South Korea, involving a passenger aircraft carrying 181 people. Authorities have confirmed that most of those on board are feared dead, though two survivors were discovered as search efforts continued.

The plane, which had departed from Bangkok, was attempting to land at Muan International Airport when it went off the runway. The flight was operated by Jeju Air, a South Korean carrier.

Footage from the scene reveals the white-and-orange aircraft skidding down the runway on its belly before it veered off course, crashing into a barrier and erupting into a massive fireball.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Officials are exploring several possibilities, including the potential for a bird strike that may have led to a malfunction in the plane’s landing gear. Ju Jong-wan, a director at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, confirmed that authorities are looking into all leads to determine the cause of the incident.
