Eno Signs N995bn 2025 Akwa Ibom Budget Into Law
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has officially signed the N995 billion 2025 “Budget of Consolidation and Expansion” into law.
The Governor assented to the bill at the State Executive Council (SEC) Chambers of the Government House in Uyo, with Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong, alongside members of the SEC and the state legislature, in attendance.
After the ceremony, Governor Eno praised the lawmakers for their swift passage of the appropriation bill and commended the strong partnership and unity of purpose between the executive and legislative arms in executing government policies and programs.
He emphasized the importance of sustainable collaboration to deliver the dividends of democracy, aligning with his administration’s ARISE Agenda, which focuses on Agriculture, Rural Development, Infrastructure, and Social Empowerment.
LEADERSHIP recalls that the House of Assembly passed the 2025 budget into law on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, after adopting the report presented by the Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation and Finance, Dr. Itoro Etim (Uruan State Constituency).
Following the adoption, the House proceeded to a Committee of the Whole to review the report before passing it into law after the third reading.
The budget includes N300 billion for recurrent expenditure and N655 billion for capital expenditure. The 2025 budget represents a 3% increase from the N923.412 billion revised budget for 2024.
