Gunmen Abduct Gov Alia’s Kinsman in Benue

On Monday, gunmen abducted Emmanuel Tor Yaji, the President-General of the Kunav United Development Association (KUDA), at Tsar Mbaduku in the Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State. Tsar is the hometown of Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia.

The abduction occurred while Yaji was relaxing with friends in Tsar. The police were promptly informed about the incident and swiftly mobilized detectives to ensure Yaji’s safe return.

Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene, confirmed the abduction, stating, “On 30/12/2024 at about 2030hrs, information was received at Vandeikya Police Division that Emmanuel Tor Yaji of Tsar Mbaduku was kidnapped while relaxing with his friends.”

Anene added that the police have launched an investigation and are working to uncover the perpetrators of the crime. The police have called on the public for any information that could assist in the rescue operation.
