Warri Refinery Takeoff a New Year Gift to Nigerians, Says Okpebholo
Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has hailed the restoration of the Warri Refinery as a significant milestone for Nigeria’s petroleum industry, calling it a New Year gift to the Nigerian people.
Governor Okpebholo also congratulated President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) for the successful restart of the 125,000 barrels per day (bpd) Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company.
In a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, in Benin City on Tuesday, Okpebholo commended President Tinubu for his reforms in the petroleum sector, which he said are already yielding positive results that will drive economic growth. He urged Nigerians to continue supporting the president.
“The restoration of the 125,000 barrels per day Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company marks a major turnaround in the nation’s petroleum sector,” said Governor Okpebholo. “I commend President Tinubu for the reforms in the sector, which are beginning to bear fruit and will advance the national economy. I call on all Nigerians to support the president.”
He expressed optimism that with the Warri, Port Harcourt, and Dangote refineries all operational, the petroleum sector is on the path to significant improvement.
“I join many Nigerians in congratulating President Tinubu and the NNPCL under Mele Kyari for successfully reviving the Warri Refinery. This is truly a New Year gift to Nigerians. Edo State remains committed to supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government to restore our national pride and make Nigeria a leading crude oil refining hub in Africa,” Governor Okpebholo concluded.
