Idahosa Seeks Support to Sustain Okpebholo’s Development Strides in Edo
Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, has called for continued support from the people to help maintain and build upon the development initiatives led by Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo’s administration across the 18 local government areas of the state.
Idahosa made the appeal during a reception held in his honor by his community at Iguobazuwa, located in Ovia South West local government area, following his victory in the September 2023 elections. In a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Friday Aghedo, the Deputy Governor highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration in sustaining the administration’s progress.
The former member of the House of Representatives expressed confidence that the Okpebholo-led government would continue to drive positive change, particularly through ongoing infrastructural projects that he had started during his tenure in the Green Chamber. He dedicated his victory to God, affirming that the opportunity would be used to benefit the people of the state.
Idahosa emphasized the need for support in ensuring that Governor Okpebholo’s promises are fulfilled, particularly in his hometown, Iguobazuwa, which he assured would not be neglected. He also reiterated the administration’s commitment to implementing a bottom-up approach that would make governance more inclusive, ensuring that policies reach the grassroots level.
“Let me also express my gratitude to Governor Okpebholo for choosing me as his running mate,” Idahosa said. “I promise to work hard and fulfill the campaign promises, and I am committed to serving all Edo State citizens, not just the APC supporters.”
Idahosa further thanked the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Oba Ewuare II, and the people of his community for their unwavering support. He vowed to make them proud and work towards the continued development of Edo State.
In his remarks, the clan head of Iguobazuwa, Pa. Edward Edoghayeobare Igbinovia, congratulated Idahosa on his election as Deputy Governor. He described the occasion as an important milestone for the development of both the Iguobazuwa community and Edo State as a whole.
