Kano Will Vote APC, Tinubu in 2027, Says New Boss
The newly appointed Managing Director of the Hadejia Jamaere River Basin Development Authority (HJRBDA), Engr. Rabiu Bichi, has expressed confidence that the people of Kano State will support the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. Bichi made this declaration during a dinner hosted by the Coalition of APC Youth Movement (CAYM) in Kano, led by Adamu Mukhtar. The event was organized to honor three individuals appointed by President Tinubu and to acknowledge the president’s commitment to including Kano in his administration.
In his speech, Bichi criticized the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), which governs Kano under Governor Engr. Abba Yusuf, stating that the party had lost popularity due to its anti-people policies. He revealed that efforts were underway to mobilize support for the APC in preparation for the 2027 elections, with a strong focus on engaging APC youths.
Bichi also expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for appointing Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State, as the National Chairman of the APC. He praised Ganduje’s leadership, highlighting his success in leading the party through multiple governorship victories, including those in states where the sitting governors were from opposing parties, such as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The new HJRBDA boss accused the Abba Yusuf administration of neglecting and dismantling developmental projects initiated by Ganduje’s government. He also claimed that the current administration had caused significant damage to the state’s economy by demolishing properties worth over N150 billion, which he said belonged to the people of Kano.
Bichi assured President Tinubu and Dr. Ganduje that the people of Kano were dissatisfied with the current administration’s actions and were eagerly awaiting the opportunity to vote out the NNPP government in 2027. He emphasized that even members of the NNPP, including those loyal to the party, were increasingly joining the APC, signaling widespread discontent with the ruling administration.
