Aiyedatiwa made these remarks during a condolence visit to the widow and family of the late Oluwatuyi in Akure, the state capital, on Sunday.

In honour of Oluwatuyi, Governor Aiyedatiwa declared a three-day period of mourning and prayers from Sunday, January 5th, to Tuesday, January 7th.

The late SSG passed away on Saturday morning at an undisclosed hospital, two weeks after a car accident on his way to Ibadan, Oyo State, on December 15th. Governor Aiyedatiwa noted that Oluwatuyi was a significant figure in the state’s politics and governance, stating that the history of Ondo State would not be complete without acknowledging his contributions.

The Governor, who also spoke with the deceased’s children abroad via video call, extolled Oluwatuyi’s virtues, describing him as a true gentleman who conducted both his public and private life with respect and humility. He expressed his condolences, prayed for the soul of the deceased, and promised the state’s support for the family during this challenging period.

In the condolence register, Aiyedatiwa wrote: “Hon Tayo Oluwatuyi, you came, you lived, you performed your God-given tasks and impacted lives. You have decided to leave us at a time we never expected, but God said it is time to come home. May you rest in the bosom of your creator, God. Amen.”

The Governor’s team, led by the Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Pastor Ayoade Babalola, also held a special prayer session for the family, the Akure community, and the state.
