JUST-IN: Sokoto SSG Loses Daughter, 3 Grandchildren In Fire Incident

A devastating fire tragedy occurred in the early hours of Monday in Sokoto, resulting in the deaths of the daughter of the Secretary to the Sokoto State Government (SSG), Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Sifawa, and three of her children.

The fire, whose cause is yet to be determined, started in the early morning and rapidly engulfed the entire house while the family members were asleep. The deceased woman was the wife of the Permanent Secretary of the state’s Ministry of Sports and Youths Development, Alhaji Muhammadu Yusuf Bello.

Tragically, the entire family perished in the blaze, with only the husband surviving the ordeal. Efforts by the Sokoto State Fire Service to contain the fire took hours, but they were eventually able to bring the flames under control.

In response to the tragedy, the Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Engineer Idris Mohammed Gobir, along with other members of the state executive council, political leaders from the All Progressives Congress (APC), and various well-wishers, have gathered at the residence of Alhaji Sifawa to offer their condolences.

The funeral for the deceased and her children is set to take place after prayers at Sheikh Shehu Usmanu Danfodiyo Mosque, Sifawa, with the remains to be laid to rest shortly thereafter.
