Bauchi Governor Sacks Five Commissioners, Nominates Eight New Appointees
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has dismissed five commissioners from his cabinet as part of a strategic move to revitalize governance and ensure more effective service delivery to the people of the state.
The five affected commissioners are Dr. Jamila Mohammed Dahiru (Education), Barr. Abubakar Abdulhameed Bununu (Internal Security and Home Affairs), Comrade Usman Danturaki (Information and Communication), Professor Simon Madugu Yalams (Agriculture), and Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza (Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation).
A statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, explained that the reshuffle is a routine measure aimed at enhancing the administration’s efficiency and addressing emerging challenges. The Governor’s office also emphasized the importance of infusing fresh ideas and energy into governance to strengthen the machinery of government.
Governor Mohammed expressed his gratitude to the outgoing commissioners for their dedication, service, and contributions to the growth and development of Bauchi State. He acknowledged that their efforts had been crucial in advancing key policies and initiatives under his administration and wished them success in their future endeavors.
In addition to the cabinet changes, the Governor has nominated eight individuals for security clearance and subsequent confirmation by the Bauchi State House of Assembly as new Honourable Commissioners and members of the State Executive Council. The nominees include:

- Abdullahi Mohammed (Misau Local Government)
- Dr. Bala Musa Lukshi (Dass Local Government)
- Usman Usman Shehu (Shira Local Government)
- Iliyasu Aliyu Gital (Tafawa Balewa Local Government)
- Prof. Titus Saul Ketkukah (Tafawa Balewa Local Government)
- Hon. Adamu Babayo Gabarin (Darazo Local Government)
- Dr. Mohammed Lawal Rimin Zayam (Toro Local Government)
