Kwara Government Hires 1,811 Teaching, Non-teaching Staff
The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB) has hired 1,811 staff from the 55,713 applicants who applied for various positions in the state. The announcement was made by the chairman of the board, Prof. Shehu Adaramaja, in a statement issued by the board’s press secretary, Aminat Atere.
Out of the 1,811 successful candidates, 1,500 are teachers, mostly in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects, while the remaining 311 are non-teaching staff, including drivers, security guards, and office assistants for schools across the state’s 16 local government areas.
Prof. Adaramaja emphasized that the recruitment process focused on hiring individuals who are committed to staying in their designated locations. This effort was aimed at addressing staffing shortages, particularly in rural areas, by hiring qualified personnel from these communities.
He added that the successful applicants, who provided valid phone numbers, have already been contacted for documentation. The documentation process began on Monday, January 6, with applicants from Kwara North. On Tuesday, January 7, new hires from Kwara South were scheduled for documentation, while Wednesday, January 8, will focus on successful candidates from Kwara Central.
The required documents for the documentation process include original and two photocopies of credentials, two file jackets and tags, citizenship certificates, two passport photographs, bond signing, and a filled-out biodata form.
