Scores Killed in Foiled Terrorist Attack on Chadian Presidential Palace
Several Boko Haram insurgents were killed by Chadian forces during an attempted attack on the country’s presidential palace in Ndjamena on Wednesday night. The assailants, believed to be members of Boko Haram, were repelled by Chadian security personnel stationed at the entrance to the presidential residence.
Sources confirmed that many of the terrorists were killed in the confrontation, with others taken into custody.
In response to the attempted attack, the Chadian government has reassured citizens that the situation is under control. The country’s Minister of Defence, Abderamane Koullamallah, who also serves as the government spokesperson, urged the public to remain calm and assured them that the government is fully handling the matter.
The Minister confirmed that Chadian forces swiftly neutralized the threat and emphasized that the armed forces are maintaining heightened vigilance to ensure peace and security. He reiterated that the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order is unwavering, even at the risk of soldiers’ lives.
“I would like to reassure all Chadians that the situation is under control,” Koullamallah stated.
