Tinubu Heads to UAE for Abu Dhabi Sustainability Summit

President Bola Tinubu will leave Abuja on Saturday, January 11, to attend the 2025 edition of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), which will take place from January 12 to 18 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The invitation to President Tinubu was extended by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. A statement from Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga on Friday revealed that the Summit aims to bring together global leaders to accelerate sustainable development and foster socioeconomic progress.

Themed “The Nexus of Next; Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” the summit will allow policymakers, business leaders, and civil society representatives to explore strategies for transitioning to a sustainable economy and ushering in a new era of prosperity for all.

ADSW has been an annual event for over 15 years, serving as a platform for collaboration across governments, industries, and clean energy pioneers. It has resulted in high-value agreements and partnerships that have driven significant advancements in global sustainability efforts.

At the event, President Tinubu will highlight his administration’s reforms, particularly in areas such as energy sufficiency, transportation, public health, and economic development.

The President and his delegation, which includes Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar and other senior government officials, will also engage with the leadership of the UAE to discuss matters of mutual interest between the two nations.

President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria on Thursday, January 16.
