FCT Muslim Pilgrims Board Extends Hajj Registration Deadline to January 30
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced January 30, 2025, as the new deadline for individuals intending to register for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.
This extension follows a directive from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), which mandated all state Pilgrims Welfare Boards and Agencies to complete financial remittances by February 1, 2025.
In a statement signed by the Board’s spokesperson, Mohammed Aliyu, it was revealed that over 40% of the FCT’s Hajj quota has already been utilized since the registration process began in September 2024.
Registration Details
Aliyu urged prospective pilgrims to take advantage of the extension, highlighting the Board’s commitment to providing exceptional services for the pilgrimage. He outlined the registration process, stating that:
•A minimum deposit of N8,400,000.00 must be made via a bank draft payable to the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abuja.
•Deposits can be made at the Board’s headquarters in the Central Business District of Abuja or through designated centers across the six area councils.
•The final Hajj fare will be announced by NAHCON.
First-Come, First-Served Policy
Registrations will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis to ensure fairness to all FCT residents.
Aliyu also clarified that individuals who made deposits for previous Hajj seasons but could not participate must top up their payments to meet the new minimum requirement before the deadline to secure their slots.
Commitment to Improved Services
The Board reassured intending pilgrims of its dedication to improving their Hajj experience, noting that new strategies have been implemented to enhance service delivery for the 2025 pilgrimage.
With this extension, prospective pilgrims are encouraged to finalize their arrangements promptly to avoid missing out on the opportunity to perform the sacred journey.
