NNPC Disowns Fake Recruitment Notice for Port Harcourt Refinery
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has issued a public disclaimer regarding a fraudulent recruitment announcement for the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC), cautioning members of the public to avoid falling victim to scammers.
In a statement shared on its official X handle (formerly Twitter) on Friday evening, the company clarified that there is no separate recruitment process underway for PHRC beyond the one that was initiated in 2024.
The statement, titled “NNPC Ltd Disclaims Purported Recruitment Announcement for PHRC,” was signed by Olufemi Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer.
NNPCL explained that its recruitment process, which began last year, covers all its subsidiaries, including PHRC. It was further noted that candidates who successfully passed the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) are currently advancing to the interview stage.
“The purported recruitment link being circulated on various online platforms is the work of fraudsters seeking to exploit the public’s interest in the newly revamped Port Harcourt Refinery. We urge the public to disregard this false announcement and avoid engaging with the scammers,” the statement warned.
NNPCL reassured the public that any legitimate recruitment initiatives would be officially communicated through recognized channels, and urged vigilance to avoid falling prey to fraudulent schemes.
