Trump Slams Biden Administration for Failing to Manage Domestic Crisis

In his inaugural address, newly sworn-in President Donald Trump wasted no time criticizing his predecessor, Joe Biden, for what he described as the administration’s inability to manage a “simple crisis at home” while focusing on global issues.

“We now have a government that cannot manage a simple crisis at home, while at the same time stumbling into a continuing catalog of catastrophic events abroad,” Trump declared during his speech on Monday afternoon, shortly after taking the oath of office as the 47th President of the United States.

Trump’s remarks focused heavily on domestic issues, particularly immigration, which he framed as a major failure of the Biden administration. “The Biden government fails to protect our magnificent law-abiding citizens but provides sanctuary and protection for dangerous criminals,” he said, referring to policies he claimed favored illegal immigrants over American citizens.

Trump also criticized the government’s spending priorities, noting, “We have a government that has given unlimited funding to the defense of foreign borders but refuses to defend American borders or, more importantly, its own people.”

The president went on to highlight what he saw as the country’s decline under Biden’s leadership, pointing to the education and healthcare systems as areas in need of urgent reform. Trump vowed to implement rapid change, asserting that his election victory was a mandate to reverse what he called “a horrible betrayal.”

“All of this will change starting today, and it will change very quickly,” he promised. “My recent election is a mandate to completely and totally reverse a horrible betrayal, and all of these many betrayals that have taken place, and to give the people back their faith, their wealth, their democracy and, indeed, their freedom. From this moment on, America’s decline is over.”

In a deeply personal moment, Trump declared January 20, 2025, as “liberation day,” referring to his survival of an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, during the 2024 campaign. Trump has frequently framed the incident as a sign of divine intervention, with some of his supporters at the Republican National Convention viewing his survival as proof of God’s will.

“It is my hope that our recent presidential election will be remembered as the greatest and most consequential election in the history of our country,” Trump concluded his address, signaling his intent to lead with a bold vision for America’s future.
