BREAKING: Gov. Makinde Loses Older Brother

Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, is mourning the loss of his older brother, Engr. Sunday Makinde, who passed away in the early hours of Friday, January 24, 2024, at the age of 65.

The sad news was shared in a statement by another younger brother, Chief Olumuyiwa Makinde, who is the Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland and Head of the Aigbofa Family of Oja’ba in Ibadan.

With a heavy heart, Chief Olumuyiwa Makinde announced, “I regret to inform you of the passing of my older brother, Engr. Sunday Makinde, who departed this world today, Friday 24th January 2024, at 3:20 am in his Ibadan residence.”

He continued, “He is survived by siblings, including His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State, as well as children and grandchildren.”

The entire Makinde family is in mourning as they cope with the untimely passing of Engr. Sunday Makinde.
