Crime Reporters Condole FCT CP Over Son’s Death
The Crime Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CCAN) has expressed heartfelt condolences to the Commissioner of Police (CP) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), CP Olatunji Disu, over the tragic and untimely death of his son, Tunde Disu, who passed away in an auto crash on Monday, January 21, 2025.
In a statement, the Chairman of the association, Sam Ogbuefi, described the incident as an “undoubtedly an irreparable loss” to CP Disu, a dedicated and hardworking crime fighter who has worked tirelessly to reshape the security landscape of the FCT since taking office last year. The association also encouraged CP Disu to remain resolute in his commitment to fighting crime in the FCT despite this devastating personal loss.
LEADERSHIP recalls that CP Disu received the tragic news of his son’s death the same day he had visited the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ushafa Division, CSP A.A. Sambo, to offer condolences following the loss of his own son. On his way back from Ushafa, CP Disu was informed of his son’s passing.
The late Tunde Disu has since been buried at the Gudu cemetery in Abuja on Wednesday.
