Woman Dies After Falling Into Well in Kano
A young woman tragically lost her life on Friday after falling into a well in Danbare, located in the Kumbotso local government area of Kano State.
The Kano State Fire Service confirmed the incident in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Assistant Chief Fire Officer Saminu Yusif Abdullahi. According to the statement, the fire service received an emergency call at 9:24 am from a resident, Bashir Salisu, reporting the unfortunate event.
The emergency response team mobilized immediately and arrived at the scene by 9:32 am. Despite their efforts, the victim, who had been struggling with anxiety and mental health challenges, was pulled from the well unconscious. Sadly, she was later confirmed dead by her family.
Abdullahi confirmed that the body of the deceased woman was handed over to the ward head of Danbare, Magaji Kasim, for further arrangements.
“The cause of the incident is under investigation,” the statement concluded.
