5 Corps Members Receive N3.2 Million in Business Grants

Five National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members have been awarded business grants totaling over N3.2 million by Mrs. Love Idoko Uloko, founder of the Activate Success International Foundation.

The grant presentation ceremony took place at the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, as stated in a press release by Caroline Embu, Acting Director of Information and Public Relations at NYSC.

The recipients are: Enwemeka Blessing (FC/24A/5897), Abdumalik Ibrahim (FC/24A/6157), Akande Olaitan Sunday (FC/24B/3856), Blessing Ijeoma Omachi (FC/24B/5031), and Emmanuel Ali (FC/24B/0603). The first three beneficiaries received N750,000 each, while the last two received N500,000 each.

The business ideas presented by the beneficiaries cover various sectors, including fashion, food and confectionery, and horticulture.

Speaking at the event, NYSC Director General Brigadier General Yeshua Ahmed emphasized that his administration will continue to collaborate with stakeholders committed to empowering Corps members toward self-employment. He reaffirmed that as part of his five-point policy thrust, his administration is dedicated to reducing the number of unemployed graduate youths in Nigeria.

In her remarks, Mrs. Uloko explained that the beneficiaries were selected through a rigorous, transparent, and merit-based process. She praised the Corps members for their creativity, resilience, and clear vision for the future.

“To date, we have supported 53 Corps members through this initiative. We are investing in dreams, nurturing potential, and sowing seeds of success that will flourish for years to come,” she said.

Mrs. Uloko also highlighted the long-standing partnership between Activate Success International Foundation and NYSC, noting that for over seven years, the foundation has been providing transformative opportunities to Corps members.

“Through this program, we are building a generation of self-reliant leaders who are equipped to contribute meaningfully to society,” she added, also thanking the NYSC Director General and his team for their unwavering commitment to empowering Nigerian youths.
