35 Graves, Shrine Discovered In Popular Anambra Hotel Used For Kidnapping

In a shocking development, the Anambra State Government has uncovered 35 graves and other disturbing findings at the Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites in Oba, Idemili South local government area of the state. The hotel, which was allegedly used as a base for kidnapping and other criminal activities, was demolished on Friday following government orders.

Led by the deputy governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, the demolition squad uncovered chilling evidence during their operation. “Numerous horrific things were uncovered in this facility, including chains of graves and a shrine. This is a clear violation of the Homeland Security Law, and such properties will be pulled down and taken over by the government,” Dr. Ibezim stated.

The discovery also included live bullets and spent shells found on the top floor of the two-storey hotel, suggesting a deeply entrenched pattern of violence and illegal activities. The demolition was carried out in line with the Homeland Security Law, signed into effect by Governor Charles Soludo, which gives the state the authority to seize and demolish properties linked to criminal conduct.

Ken Emeakyi, the Special Adviser to Governor Soludo on Community Security, reaffirmed the state’s commitment to combating crime. “The government is battle-ready for sustained action against crime and criminality. This operation marks a turning point in our resolve to ensure Anambra is safe for all residents,” Emeakyi asserted.

Many rooms of the hotel were found in disrepair, with spent bullet shells scattered across several areas. The establishment had reportedly become a hub for heinous crimes, shaking the local community and alarming state authorities.

The Anambra government has urged the public to support efforts in tackling crime, calling for vigilance and the reporting of suspicious activities in local communities. “This is a war that requires a collective effort,” said Dr. Ibezim. “We call on all Anambra residents to remain vigilant and report any unclear activities. Together, we can root out crime and criminality from our communities.”
