Insecurity: Kwara NSCDC Creates 18 New Area Commands, Divisions

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State has expanded its operational reach by establishing seven new Area Commands and 11 new Divisions across the state’s 16 local government areas.

The newly created Area Commands are:

  • Area I (Lafiagi)
  • Area J (Oke-Oyi)
  • Area K (Agbabiaka)
  • Area L (Patigi)
  • Area M (Kaoama)
  • Area N (Share)
  • Area O (Ilemona)

Additionally, 11 new Divisions have been established in the following locations:

  • Alagbado
  • Jebba
  • Kpada
  • Ilupeju
  • Shonga
  • Tsaragi
  • Oro
  • Bacita
  • Lade
  • Agbabiaka
  • Amayo

The State Commandant of NSCDC, Dr. Umar Muhammed, in a statement issued by the Corps’ Public Relations Officer, Ayoola Michael, explained that the creation of these new Area Commands and Divisions received the approval of the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Audi.

This expansion is part of the NSCDC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its core mandates and improve operational efficiency in addressing security challenges. Dr. Muhammed emphasized that these developments are aimed at enhancing the Corps’ effectiveness and increasing its presence in local communities to tackle criminal activities.

He also urged the public to cooperate with the newly deployed personnel, noting that these changes reflect the Corps’ commitment to boosting collaboration in the fight against crime across Kwara State.
