JAMB Suspends Law Admission at 8 Universities
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the suspension of Law admissions at eight universities for the 2025/2026 academic session, following the suspension of the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) program by the Council of Legal Education (CLE).
The affected universities include Kwara State University, Bingham University, Redeemers University, Western Delta University, Taraba State University, Arthur Jarvis University, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, and the Nigerian Police Academy.
According to JAMB’s Public Communications Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the suspension will last for two academic sessions at the Nigerian Police Academy, continuing into the 2026/2027 session.
Dr. Benjamin explained that as a result of the suspension, JAMB will not approve any admissions for candidates seeking to enroll in the Law program at these institutions for the 2025/2026 academic session.
He added, “The ban on registration for the Law program at the Nigerian Police Academy will extend into the 2026/2027 academic session.”
This suspension is a direct consequence of the CLE’s decision to halt the Law program at the specified institutions for the given period.
