BREAKING: Court Grants Omoyele Sowore N10m Bail

Omoyele Sowore, convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, has been granted bail by a Federal High Court in Abuja in the amount of N10 million, with one surety required in the same sum.

The court’s ruling specifies that the surety must be a responsible individual with landed property valued at N10 million. The surety will be required to submit the original documents of the property, along with a passport photograph, to the court’s Registrar.

In addition to the surety requirement, the court ordered Sowore to surrender his international passport to the Registrar. The judge further ruled that Sowore must perfect the bail conditions within 24 hours, or he will be remanded in police custody until the conditions are met.

Sowore, the founder and two-time presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2019 and 2023 elections, is facing prosecution by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on 17 counts related to cybercrimes and allegedly calling the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, an “illegal IGP.”

Further details will follow.
