UNILORIN Celebrates Seun Okinbaloye’s N2 Million Donation to Alma Mater

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has expressed its gratitude to Seun Okinbaloye, a renowned TV anchor and alumnus, following his generous donation of N2 million to the institution’s Department of Performing and Film Arts. The university has hailed the journalist’s contribution as “remarkable.”

UNILORIN shared the news on its official Facebook page on Monday, acknowledging Okinbaloye’s significant gesture.

According to reports from LEADERSHIP, Okinbaloye, a journalist with Channels Television, visited UNILORIN in Ilorin, Kwara State, earlier this month as the special guest or ‘Chief Priest’ at the induction ceremony for newly admitted students in the Department of Performing and Film Arts.

The university highlighted that Okinbaloye’s presence at the event left a lasting impact on the incoming students as they embarked on their journey into the performing arts field.

In their post, UNILORIN expressed: “We’re excited to share that our distinguished alumnus, Seun Okinbaloye, returned to his roots at the University of Ilorin’s Department of Performing and Film Arts to give back in a truly remarkable way!”

The post continued: “As the Chief Priest at the department’s induction ceremony on January 17, 2025, Seun Okinbaloye inspired our newly admitted students as they took their first steps into the world of performing arts. And that’s not all! He also made a generous donation of ₦2 million to support the department’s efforts to provide exceptional education and training.”

The university further expressed its appreciation, adding: “We’re grateful for Seun Okinbaloye’s kindness and look forward to his continued support and involvement in our PFA’s activities and #UNILORINat50 celebrations!”
