Oyo Gov’t Converts 1,591 LG Ad-hoc Workers To Permanent Staff
The Oyo State Government has converted 1,591 ad-hoc staff working with local governments across the state into permanent staff, fulfilling a promise made by Governor Seyi Makinde.
Ademola Ojo, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, announced this development in Ibadan. He confirmed that the appointment letters for the affected workers are now ready for collection.
Governor Makinde had earlier approved the conversion of these ad-hoc staff across the 33 local government councils in the state in October 2024, aiming to address workforce gaps at the local government level.
Ojo assured that due process was followed in executing the conversion, ensuring the exercise was transparent and effective.
Successful candidates are instructed to collect their appointment letters at the Local Government Service Commission from Monday, February 3 to Thursday, February 6, 2025, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily. However, Ojo made it clear that the collection of appointment letters by proxy is strictly prohibited.
He congratulated the successful applicants and wished them success in their new permanent roles.
