Bola Ige Murder: Ladoja Challenges Akande to Reveal What He Knows
Former Oyo State governor, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has called on Chief Bisi Akande, the pioneer national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to publicly share any information he may have regarding the murder of former Attorney General, Chief Bola Ige, SAN.
Ladoja’s remarks came in response to comments made by Akande during a podcast interview with renowned radio host Edmund Obilo. Akande had claimed that former Oyo State governor, Alhaji Lam Adesina, had filed a case over Ige’s murder, but Ladoja withdrew it from court. Akande also suggested that the government of former President Olusegun Obasanjo was responsible for Ige’s death, though he did not provide further details.
In an interview with journalists at his residence in Ibadan, Ladoja denied any involvement in the matter, insisting that Akande’s claims were false. He challenged Akande to go public with any knowledge he has about Ige’s death rather than making baseless accusations.
“I don’t have any hidden knowledge about the death of Chief Bola Ige. I had no problem with Bola Ige. Maybe Chief Bisi Akande wants to sell his book. I don’t know. There is no correlation between my election and the death of Ige,” Ladoja said.
Ladoja also stated, “He should come out and tell the public instead of maligning my image. But, all options are open. As Otun Olubadan, I am no longer a politician.”
