BREAKING: Bandits Kill 2, Abduct 5 in New Attack on Kaduna Communities
Armed bandits launched a fresh assault on Kumana Chiefdom’s Kwassam Ward in Galadimawa Town and the Rumaya communities in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The attack resulted in the deaths of two people and the abduction of five others.
Three individuals were also injured, suffering gunshot wounds, as the bandits fired indiscriminately during the raid on Monday. The violence left the villagers shaken and in fear for their safety.
A resident of T/wada Garmadi in Rumaya Kwassam Ward, Mr. Joel Ahada, condemned the attack, calling it a flagrant violation of human rights and a threat to the security of rural communities. “Has the government turned a blind eye to our suffering?” he questioned. “We demand immediate action and protection for our people!”
Ahada identified the deceased victims as Shehu Umaru and Philip Barde. The injured were named as Vincent Danjuma, Francis Habila, and Amu Bawa.
The kidnapped victims were listed as Shekarau Umaru, Nathan Danjuma, Augustine Samuel, Dawo Bawa, and Hon. Christopher Sayi. Ahada urged for prayers for the souls of the deceased, the safe return of the kidnapped, and a speedy recovery for the wounded.
Efforts to obtain a response from the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Kaduna State Command, DSP Mansir Hassan, were unsuccessful as of the time of this report.
