Federal Government Begins Toll Collection on Abuja-Makurdi Expressway

The Federal Government is set to commence toll collection on the Abuja-Akwanga-Lafia-Makurdi Expressway, starting this Tuesday. The tolling operation is part of the Highways Development and Management Initiative (HDMI) Phase II Value Added Concession (VAC). The official ceremony will be conducted by the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, at the Garaku Toll Station, located at KM 32 along the Keffi-Akwanga section of the highway.

The expressway features four toll stations, which has raised concerns among road users and transporters about the potential impact on transportation fares.
