Police Kill 2 Bandits in Bauchi Forest
Police operatives, in collaboration with local hunters, have neutralized two suspected armed bandits in the Dajin-Madan forest, located in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The operation was carried out based on credible intelligence and community networks, which led the team to encounter the bandits during a surveillance mission in the forest.
Confirming the incident, CSP Ahmed Wakil, spokesperson for the Bauchi State Police Command, said the bandits were killed following a proactive engagement by the security forces. He noted that additional assailants sustained injuries and fled into nearby bushes.
During the operation, one AK-49 rifle and nine rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the criminals.
“This operation underscores our commitment, alongside our community partners, to combat banditry and ensure public safety,” said CSP Wakil. “The Nigeria Police Force remains steadfast in working with community stakeholders to safeguard citizens’ lives and property while holding criminals accountable.”
Wakil further assured that security forces will continue to intensify efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region, aiming to create a safer environment for the community.
