Senator Ojudu Celebrates Fayemi’s 60th Milestone
Senator Babafemi Ojudu, former Special Adviser to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari on Political Matters, has joined several political figures in celebrating Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the former Governor of Ekiti State, on his 60th birthday.
Ojudu and Fayemi share a long history in politics, having first worked together within the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO). They were also key members of the progressive political family, which saw them both part of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and later the All Progressives Congress (APC). Despite their shared history, the two prominent politicians from Ekiti have since gone their separate ways due to differences in ideology.
On the occasion of Fayemi’s milestone birthday, Senator Ojudu took to Facebook on Saturday to reflect on their past efforts, particularly their shared fight to free Ekiti State from what he called “brute governance, political assassinations, and the plundering of public resources.”
In his heartfelt message titled “60th Birthday Greetings to Dr. Kayode Fayemi,” the former presidential aide wrote, “As you mark your 60th birthday, I pause to reflect on the journey we once embarked on to rescue Ekiti from the grip of tyranny and misgovernance. Those were defining moments, driven by our commitment to democracy, courage, and the fight for good governance.”
“While our paths have diverged, I acknowledge the milestones you’ve achieved and the lasting impact you’ve made. Your persistence in remaining relevant to the nation’s progress deserves recognition,” he continued.
Ojudu further highlighted the significance of reaching the 60-year milestone, describing it as a time for reflection, appreciation, and renewed purpose. He concluded by wishing Fayemi good health, a long life, and fulfillment in the years ahead. “May this new decade bring you wisdom, peace, and fresh opportunities to serve the greater good of society,” Ojudu added.
